Sir Winston Churchill was an essential leader of his time. Historians will debate this but he was arguably a racist in the accepted 2023 sense. Sad but possibly true. Please bear this in mind when you read this quote above and why it appears here when the article is about the very first Prime Minister in the UK who is of Indian origin. I certainly applaud that fact but must agree with the general thrust of George Monbiot’s article.
